The work is made of Mould 250 medium-density polyurethane foam, clad in polyester resin. It measures 1,80 m x 2,60 m x 7,00 m (h; w; l). It was created through a process of three-dimensional modeling and shaped by CNC machinery. The finishes were applied manually by the artist himself.
The production process was based on a total synergy between the various subjects in the field of design, research, and industrial manufacturing. A video production complements the work in progress.
When the International Architecture Exhibition is over, the work will be located in the city of Milan.
A concrete manifesto to promote a new urban conception. An opportunity to reflect and discuss the contemporary city and its new city planning tools. To build on buildings; to reinterpret the city and its spaces; to restore the bonds with the existing to maintain even the symbolic continuity between past and present; to substitute, renovate and demolish, in order to establish new urban images that can interpret the needs of our own time.
Today, where everything about the city and architecture is visible except what’s inside, “Manifesto per Milano. Void as Public Opportunity” is an invitation to discover what is going to happen.
