The Archivio Storico delle Arti Contemporanee (ASAC, the Historic Archives of Contemporary Arts) collects, conserves and administers the heritage of documentation collected by the Biennale di Venezia from 1895 to the present.
It supplies services inherent to the documentation, to research and experimentation in the field of contemporary arts: visual arts, architecture, film, music, dance, theatre.
It promotes the circulation of the legacy of documentation produced by the Biennale and collaborates with the sectors of activity in producing the events.
The ASAC is a multidisciplinary and multimedia structure and includes the following collections:
8,500 videos, 4,500 records, and 3,600 tapes
600,000 positives, 130,000 slides, 37,000 negatives, 27,309 plates, 35,000 digital images
