The Cookie Cottage is a performance by 18 very young dancers and actors from Venice who play 18 different characters from fairy tales. The action takes place around a cottage covered entirely in real cookies. The dimension of smell is instantly perceived in the space, which is literally permeated with the aroma of fresh-baked cookies.

The public is admitted in small groups, which move through the space in which the different characters appear each in their own zone. The journey begins into a fairy tale atmosphere, into a world that makes you move and see things in a different way, that brings you into contact with a different dimension.

A journey peppered with sudden, instantaneous, lightning-quick apparitions, continually morphing between plant and animal, between fairy-tale figures and short rituals, between a plausible Red Riding Hood and the sounds of a ghostly wolf; an immediate passage from the memory of a gesture that is descriptive in its simplicity, allusive, to the rapture of a suspended, polyrhythmic vocabulary, consisting in noises that prelude to the ‘cartoon-like’ movement of the characters.

The Cottage becomes a shelter, a hut, a magical place in which to experiment with the nature of gesture, from childhood to adolescence.
