SYNOPSIS

Loving Pablo chronicles the rise and fall of the world’s most feared drug lord, Pablo Escobar, and his volatile love affair with Colombia’s most famous journalist, Virginia Vallejo, throughout a reign of terror that tore a country apart.

DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT

While Pablo Escobar’s facts have been recounted over the last decades in books, TV series and documentaries, Virginia Vallejo’s approach offers a more intimate look at his criminal behavior, describing from up close the toughest years of the raging war he waged against the Colombian government. A famous journalist and television anchorwomen, Virginia was also his lover. And a confident, an interlocutor, a kind of a Pygmalion; but most of all, she was a survivor. Hers is the desperate story of a shipwrecked about fascination and bedazzlement, but also about the unequalled craziness and terror of one of the most violent decades in recent history, of which she was both a part and a witness.
