Chronicles from the Venice International Film Festival: thirty years ago, in 1983, Bernardo Bertolucci was the president of a jury at the Venice Film Festival composed for the first time of directors only, such as the Hungarian Márta Mészáros, Nagisa Oshima, Bob Rafelson, the master of Senegalese cinema Ousmane Sembene, Alain Tanner, Agnès Varda. They decided to reward the splendid film by an illustrious colleague, Prénom Carmen by Jean Luc-Godard: here, from the archives of the Biennale, one of the articles that announced the news on September 12th, 1983.
