All sections »

From the Archives of the Biennale, this is the telegram in which, in 1958, Anthony Quinn thanked the Director of the 19th Venice Film Festival, Floris Luigi Ammannati, for inviting him to Venice: the actor came for the screening in Competition of Black Orchid by Martin Ritt (Sophia Loren would win the Coppa Volpi for Best Actress in this film), but also took time out for long walks through the city of Venice with his companion of the time, actress Barbara Steele.
