YouTube and Emirates in partnership with Scott Free Productions and the Venice Film Festival announced on August 1 the ten Your Film Festival finalists that will attend the Venice Film Festival and compete for a $500,000 prize.
More than three million YouTube users shared and voted for the ten finallists. Scott Free narrowed down the candidates from the initial 15,000 submissions on YouTube to 50 semi-finalists.
Ridley Scott and Michael Fassbender are a part of the jury that will select the grand prizewinner after the films are screened at the Venice Film Festival on September 2.
The winner will use the prize money to create original online content and Scott Free and Fassbender will serve as executive producers.
