3 micro-budget feature-length films to be produced and screened at the 2014 Venice Film Festival
Only 8 months after the launch of the first edition, the Biennale di Venezia, chaired by Paolo Baratta, announces, in partnership with Gucci, the second edition of Biennale College – Cinema. This will begin May 8th, 2013 with an international call for participation on the website www.labiennale.org.
Biennale College – Cinema is a higher-education training workshop for the development and production of micro-budget feature-length films, open to emerging film directors and producers from around the world. The challenge is to succeed in creating – at the end of a year-long series of activities, three feature-length low-cost (€ 150,000) audio-visual works.
The international call for participation for the second edition will be open from May 8th through July 10th 2013. Participation is open to teams of directors making their first or second film, and producers who have produced at least three short films distributed and/or screened at festivals.
Initially, twelve projects for micro-budget feature-length films will be selected. Three of these projects will then be chosen to participate in the subsequent phases, to be developed and produced thanks to a contribution of € 150,000 and presented at the 2014 Venice Film Festival. They will also be screened online on the Sala Web, a virtual screening room that will coexist with the traditional screening rooms on the Lido.
The official and complete text of the international call for participation for the second edition of the Biennale College – Cinema will be available online starting May 8th, 2013 at the following address: www.labiennale.org/en/cinema/collegecinema/
