Biennale College – Cinema: 15 projects have been selected to participate in the first workshop

15 projects have been selected for Biennale College – Cinema  (out of the 433 projects arriving from 77 countries); each team - composed of a director and a producer - will take part in the first 10-day workshop held in Venice in January 2013.
 
Biennale College – Cinema is the brainchild of Biennale di Venezia, in partnership with Gucci, aimed at promoting new talents and offering them the opportunity to work closely with well-known professionals in order to make micro-budget films. Up to 3 of these 15 projects will receive support for 150,000.00 Euro in order to make 3 feature-length works (first or second work) which will be presented at the 70th Venice International Film Festival (28 August – 7 September 2013) directed by Alberto Barbera.
 
Biennale College - Cinema is supported by MIBAC Ministry of Cultural Heritage and ActivitiesGeneral Direction for Cinema – and the Veneto Region, and is dealt with in collaboration with IFP, Dubai International Film Festival and TorinoFilmLab.
 
The activities of Biennale College develop in all the various art sectors of Biennale di Venezia, chaired by Paolo Baratta.

These 15 projects have been selected by Alberto Barbera, together with the Biennale College – Cinema team. A brief description of the projects will soon be available at www.labiennale.org.
 
Up to 3 teams, after the first workshop, will be invited to participate in a second 15-day workshop in Venice – to be held between February and March 2013. Afterwards the micro-budget production will start; each of the 3 feature-length audio-visual works (first or second work) will receive a support amounting to 150,000.00 Euro. They will be presented at the 70th Venice International Film Festival in 2013.
