Project Focus: Body in Progress
Master Class Program February - June, 2011
 
Arsenale della Danza invites contemporary dancers into an intense physical learning-by-doing process of research and exchange.
 
Four months (without interruption) in Venice of daily classes with master teachers in a multifunctional space which fosters the dialogue with other artistic disciplines like music, video, photography, dramaturgy, multimedia design and architecture. Body in Progress is an intense process to support the individual to investigate and to find innovative way for art expression to emerge. It is an attentive look at how the educational art of dance has the ability to influence and many times redefine the lives and destiny of the young artists. Besides working in studio, the dancers are involved in on-stage activities and in a final performance to be presented in Venice. The project is open to candidates with solid dance education and skilled previous dance experience wishing to upgrade in the field of professional contemporary dance. No tuition fee is required.

The audition (on both days) will consist of:
  • A contemporary ballet class
  • Improvisation tasks
  • 3’ minutes solo (the music, if needed, must be recorded on a CD)
