Biennale College - Dance 2017

CALL FOR 7 PROFESSIONAL DANCERS

La Biennale di Venezia is seeking 7 professional dancers, male and female, with extensive experience and 5 years of proven professional experience.
The artistic Director of the Biennale Dance Department Marie Chouinard will, at her own discretion, select the dancers who meet the objectives for her artistic project in the year 2017.

The dancers will work with 3 new choreographers selected for Biennale College – Dance to produce three original choreographic works lasting approximately 12 minutes each, which will be presented to the public all at the same event as part of the 11th International Festival of Contemporary Dance of the Biennale di Venezia.
The dancers must have an open mind, a positive attitude towards experimentation and be willing to contribute to the creative process.

The project will take place in Venice and will last 6 weeks, from 23 May to 1 July 2017.
Work commitment: five days a week.
Job contract with a suitable wage.
Travel and accommodation provided by the Biennale College - Dance.
 
 
APPLICATION FOR PROFESSIONAL DANCERS
You must first register on the Biennale website in the PROFESSIONAL DANCERS section, and submit the following material:
  1. Curriculum Vitae (specifying your nationality) (max. 1000 characters) and two photographs (half bust and full figure in motion)
  2. Letter of motivation
  3.  2 Letters of reference
  4. A video (viewable via a link) that documents the dancer’s technical and expressive abilities (max. 2 minutes long; an improvisation would be ideal)
