The choreography workshop, which stresses the importance of the educational objectives of the live performing arts sections of the Venice Biennale, involves forces that are active locally, highlighting their work as creative artists. Choreographic Collision is in fact the result of the collaboration between the Venice Biennale and the Federazione Nazionale Associazioni Scuole di Danza with the Associazione Culturale Danzavenezia under the artistic direction of the director of the section Ismael Ivo and with the patronage of the Regione del Veneto.
Parallel and in synergy with Choreographic Collision, there will be a second workshop dedicated to digital photography, conceived by the Istituto Europeo di Design and held by Silvia Lelli, a famous photographer and exclusive contractor with the Teatro alla Scala for 17 years. The collaboration of the Biennale with IED in Venice began with the intent to create an interaction between two educational programs based on a single objective: to test and develop personal artistic potential. The students in the photography course will study “in the field” and will participate in all the phases of preparation and development by the four choreographers up to the final result, personally experiencing the construction of a performance. Like the choreographers, the young photographers will conclude their work by selecting the personal “narration by images” of this experience that they wish to relate and like real professionals, will provide the Venice Biennale with the photographic material necessary to promote a performance.
