In 2000, the former Arsenale Cinema became a theatre space with a proscenium arch stage and seating for 328. Since then, it regularly hosts the Venice Biennale's performing arts productions.

Teatro alle Tese
The 16th-century Tese building has now become an adaptable open space, equipped with an adjustable tier seating and a slightly-raised stage. The venue is ideal for contemporary productions.

Teatro alle Vergini
The Tese delle Vergini are formed of a long rectangular building divided into four large spaces of which two, refurbished, are used for the Biennale’s activities: new Italian Pavilion and the Teatro alle Vergini.
