Teatro alle Vergini
Standing next to the 16th-century Tese, the Tese delle Vergini are formed of a long rectangular building divided into four large spaces; two of them, refurbished, are used for the Biennale’s activities. The first, facing the Gaggiandre, is used for exhibitions – the new Italian Pavilion, since 2006 – while the second, facing the Giardino delle Vergini, was restructured as a theatre in 2006. The Teatro alle Vergini has a gallery offering room for 199, without seats but with cushions placed along the rows. The stage measures 17 metres across and 19 metres deep, has a proscenium of 1.3 metres and a backstage of 4.70 metres, and is thus able to present large sets. The electric plant has a maximum available load of 80 Kw, with a dimmer cabin located backstage. The sound system has an independent power connection with 63A socket drawn from the transformer room to the right of the gallery.
