José María Sánchez-Verdú
Born in Algeciras (Spain) in 1968. Diploma in Orchestra Conducting, Musicology and Composition at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música of Madrid. He has a degree in Law (Universidad Complutense). 1992: he attended composition studies with Franco Donatoni in Siena. 1996-99: Postgraduated studies with Hans Zender at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Frankfurt. 1997: composer in residence at the Spanish Academy in Rome. 1997-99: scholarship from the DAAD/la Caixa. As conductor he has worked with differents ensembles of contemporan music in Spain, Italy and Germany. He lives in Berlin.
