The 57th International Festival of Contemporary Music will run from 4th to 13th October 2013, directed by Ivan Fedele. The Festival will feature some of the best ensembles and soloists of the international and the Italian scene, as well as meetings and conferences with relevant personalities of music today.

Venues of the Music Biennale
The Teatro Piccolo Arsenale is located in Campo della Tana: the theatre has a new stage (16 m wide and 13 m deep) and seating for 250. The Teatro alle Tese is located in the heart of the Arsenale's monumental area, within the third building of a 2650 sq.m open space, and offers seating for 408 and a large foyer. A new venue in the Biennale's headquarters at Ca' Giustinian, the Sala delle Colonne is an ideal space for meetings and concerts of chamber music. >>

History of the Venice Music Biennale
The Venice Biennale's International Festival of Contemporary Music was established in 1930 and was the first festival to run alongside the International Art Exhibition, that had characterized the birth of the Biennale back in 1895. Over the years, the Festival presented world premieres by Stravinsky, Prokofiev and Nono, offering an overview of music in the 20th century. >>
