June 27, 2014 is the new deadline to submit films to the second edition of the workshop Final Cut in Venice, which will take place from August 31 to September 1, 2014 within the context of the Venice Film Market of the 71st International Film Festival (Lido of Venice, August 27 - September 6, 2014) directed by Alberto Barbera and organized by the Biennale di Venezia chaired by Paolo Baratta. Final Cut in Venice is organized by the Biennale di Venezia, in collaboration with the Festival International du Film d'Amiens and the Festival International de Films de Fribourg.
 
The Film Festival will give practical help to the completion of films coming from African countries, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine and Syria.
 
The Final Cut in Venice workshop consists of two working days where up to 6 selected films in working copy form will be presented to producers, buyers, distributors and programmers of international film festivals, to facilitate their post-production, and to promote any co-production partnerships, as well as access to the distribution market. There will be opportunities for networking, and meetings during which the directors and producers will be able to give feedback to the workshop participants.
 
Deadline for registration and the sending of two copies of the film (formats allowed: DVD, Blu-ray disc) or a link with password to view the film online: June 27, 2014.
 
Final Cut in Venice is realisedin collaboration with Mactari Mixing Audiorium, CNC, Knightworks, Titra TVS, Festival International du Film d’Amiens, Festival International de Films de Fribourg, Île de France Film Commission, Institut Français and, starting this year, with  Laser Film, Rai Cinema, Sub-Ti Ltd and Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie (OIF).
 
The Prizes
The workshop will conclude with the awarding of prizes in kind or in cash, for the financial support of the films in their post–production phase:      
 
  • € 15,000 for colour correction of a feature film offered by Laser Film (Rome) – up to 50 hours of work (technician included);
  • discount of € 15,000 provided by Mactari Mixing Auditorium (Paris) for sound mixing;
  • €  10,000  for the acquisition of two-year broadcasting rights, offered by Rai Cinema;
  • € 10,000 to support the costs of post-production in France, offered by CNC - Centre National du Cinéma et de l'image Animée (Paris);
  • up to € 10,000 for visual effects and special effects, offered by Knightworks;
  • up to € 10,000 for digital color correction, the creation of a master DCP and French subtitles, offered by Titra TVS (Paris);
  • up to € 6,000 for the creation of a master DCP and Italian or English subtitles, offered by Sub-Ti Ltd. (London).
  • € 5,000 offered by Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie (OIF) for an African or Arabic film from a Francophonie country member.
  • printing of a 35 mm copy (without subtitles) or cost sharing for the making of a DCP offered by Festival International du Film d'Amiens;
  • printing of a 35 mm copy (without subtitles) or cost sharing for the making of a DCP offered by Festival International de Films de Fribourg;
Prizes will be awarded by final and irrevocable decision of the Festival Director, assisted by the project partners, by the heads of institutions and service companies which provide the prizes awarded.
