BAARÌA TO OPEN 66TH FESTIVAL
The film, written and directed by Oscar-winner Giuseppe Tornatore, will be the opening film of the 66th Venice International Film Festival, on the evening of September 2nd. "An amusing and wistful story, of great loves and irresistible utopian dreams. A legend thronged with heroes...". Baarìa will screen in competition.

THE BODY OF SOUND
The 53rd International Festival of Contemporary Music, directed by Luca Francesconi and titled The Body of Sound, will run in Venice 25th September to 3rd October 2009, featuring 73 composers, 87 performances, 26 Italian premieres and 16 world premieres, alongside installations, meetings, workshops and conferences.
