In recent years the Teatropersona company has been working on what they define as the “Trilogy of silence and memory”: after a lengthy process of experimentation and training, it has decided to exclude verbal language from the stage, initiating a research process lasting years concerning the body of the actor and the composition of the image of which “A U R E” is the latest result. The origin is the emotional epic in Proust’s “Recherche”; the space, the room of memory that the author has referred to many times in his work, is presented in the light of Danish painter Vilhelm Hammershoi, the great artist of silence. Here, in the world of sleep, there are no characters or stories in the traditional sense: the figures who inhabit this world are fed by real situations, but they cause them to evaporate or reverberate; the tables and chairs seem ready to spin, the objects to take flight, the many doors seem on the verge of cracking open, revealing stifled presences and the rooms of involuntary memory.

Biografia
Teatropersona (Italy)

The physical actions of Grotowsky, Mejerchold’s bio-mechanics, martial arts, vibratory songs. And seminars with masters of the third theatre. Following these educational experiences, Alessandro Serra (author and director) and Valentina Salerno (actress) founded Teatropersona in 1999, an open tribute to the work of Ingmar Bergman. At the beginning they worked with the theatre of words. Their aesthetic turning point came with Beckett Box, a completely silent production with puppetry: since then Teatropersona has been dedicated to theatre with strong visual impact that excludes words, both in the productions for children and in the new works, gathered under the name of “Trilogy of Silence”.
