Biennale Theatre
...
The 1999 and 2000 restoration projects enabled the Venice Biennale to create two new theatre spaces within the Arsenale (Teatro Piccolo Arsenale and Teatro alle Tese) thus re-drawing the map of theatre life within the city.

Teatro Piccolo Arsenale
In 2000 the former Arsenale Cinema became a theatre space with seating for 328. The Teatro Piccolo Arsenale is now a lively venue which hosts Biennale events in the Theatre and Music sections.

Teatro alle Tese
The 16th-Century Tese comprise four equal-sized structures built in 1564. Now the Teatro alle Tese is a wide modular space, ideal for contemporary performances and unusual settings.
