The performances of the 40th International Theatre Festival (20th February > 8th March 2009) took place in many venues throughout the city of Venice, involving Mestre, Marghera and Treviso: from the historic theatres –the Goldoni and the Malibran– to the more lively venues in the city –the Teatro Fondamenta Nuove– to the university theatres -the Teatro Giovanni Poli Santa Marta- from the venues of the Biennale at the Arsenale with the Teatro Piccolo Arsenale to the Teatro Toniolo in Mestre and the Teatro Aurora in Marghera.
