Pavilions

< Back
Alongside the Palazzo delle Esposizioni, built in 1894 and later restructured and extended several times, the Gardens are occupied by a further 29 pavilions built at different periods by the various nations participating in the Biennale. Set amidst tall trees, the pavilions themselves form a sort of anthology of important twentieth-century architecture - given they were designed by architects of the status of Aalto, Hoffmann, Rietveld, Scarpa and Stirling.
