Shifting Connections

Shifting Connections is a collective immersive experience that invites participants to step through a threshold into a shared virtual world. Bodies appear as glowing points and connecting lines, forming living constellations shaped by movement and proximity.
Rather than following a story or completing tasks, the work offers an intuitive encounter for audiences of different ages and levels of VR experience. Participants can sense, play with, and transform the relations unfolding around them. As connections form, loosen, and reconfigure, invisible distances become visible, allowing the boundaries between bodies, physical space, and the virtual world to gently dissolve.

Shifting Connections continues my interest in collective VR experiences, this time through a minimal and intuitive form. I started with a simple question: what does it mean to be connected, at a time when we are constantly connected, yet often feel isolated in other ways? And what does it mean to enter and share a virtual world together? The work does not ask participants to perform, compete, or complete tasks. They can move, play, explore, or simply observe. For me, the project is a kind of small laboratory for collective perception: a place to sense how relations between bodies, space, images, and code may appear, disappear, and quietly change between us.
