A completely new way to explore the Venice Biennale catalogs by interacting with images, videos and articles.
Starting June 1st, 2011 the enhanced catalog for the 54th International Art Exhibition is available for download from the AppStore, in the form of the application iBiennale. The app has also been improved and extended for this occasion. iBiennale gives users access to all the information in the catalog about the art and artists on display at the exhibition. Browse images, explore physical and conceptual maps, watch original videos, customize your visit and take notes, locate specific artworks and discuss the works and your own meanderings and experiences at the exhibit – all from your own iPad.
iBiennale is an exciting new form of notepad that provides a unique, hands-on experience. Multimedia navigation takes you through all of the exhibition’s content, so that you can go from one work to the next or from one artist to the next using proximity filters based on the index of names, places, or themes. This personalized way to explore the content helps bring out novel perspectives. The extra video content on iBiennale brings you up close to the works, while there is a vast gallery of photos and interactive features to show you the installations, projects and related articles. So, your visit can begin before you even get to Venice: you can mark your favorite works, arrange an itinerary and take notes. With this simple, interactive guide, your visit to the 54th International Art Exhibition will be a dynamic, immersive experience.
