Ann Van den Broek - The Black Piece

The Black Piece by Ann Van den Broek arises from her attraction to the black that surrounds us, from the intimacy of black that subverts emotions, from the solid and the void of black that absorbs attention, disorients and reassures by concealing everything. In this sensually physical black, steeped in movement and fantasies, we are led by a voice, by a video-camera, by the dancers, moving through the chaos of the bodies and questioning whether what we see is real. Like in a darkroom the images and ideas abound and come together, interrogating the viewer.
