Synopsis

Three teenagers, Mateo, Alejo and Sofia, spend a day in an apartment that doesn’t belong to them. They pretend to live the life of the owners, exploring and wandering through the different rooms and spaces: wearing their clothes, using their make up, reading their books, playing their video games and eating their food. The tension between Mateo and Alejo builds up, but as night arrives, they all dance, hug each other, sweat, smoke cigarettes and drink alcohol in ecstasy, until fear and jealousy break in. Things don’t go so well and a foreign guest tests their strength.

Director’s Statement

Los bastardos is the result of a couple of years of working on a script, months of working on the fine tuning on storytelling details, and weeks rehearsing with actors. With a contemporary approach on today’s Argentine youth, my aim was to deliver a film strong in storytelling and performances, with a visual look and feel that sets the correct mood. A heavy, dense mood.
