Check out the line-up of the Festival, the screenings schedule from September 1st to 11th, and the five international juries that will assign the official awards.
The competition line-up offers today three films running for the Golden Lion award: La pecora nera by Italian newcomer Ascanio Celestini, Miral by Julian Schnabel and Norwegian Wood by Tran Anh Hung. Two official sections kick off today: Orizzonti with Catherine Breillat, and Controcampo Italiano, with Elisabetta Sgarbi.

September 2: What's on at the Festival

The second day at the 67th Venice Film Festival: screening today La pecora nera by Ascanio Celestini. Miral by Julian Schnabel and Norwegian Wood by Tran Anh Hung also in competition. Out of competition, Showtime by Stanley Kwan and The Last Movie (1971) by Dennis Hopper. The Orizzonti section kicks off with La belle endormie by Catherine Breillat. Juries / Opening and closing films of Orizzonti

Five International Juries will award the official prizes: Venezia 67 (President: Quentin Tarantino), Orizzonti (Shirin Neshat), Controcampo Italiano (Valerio Mastandrea), “Luigi De Laurentiis“ Award for a debut film (Fatih Akin), and Persol 3D Award (Shimizu Takashi).
La Belle endormie by Catherine Breillat and Oki’s Movie (Ok-hui-ui yeonghwa) by Hong Sang-soo will be the opening and closing films of the Orizzonti section.
