X Mostra internazionale d’arte cinematografica (1942)
The tenth Venice Film Festival was inevitably marred by politics and war: significant was the presence of Joseph Goebbels, then the Minister of Propaganda for the Reich, greeted, says the announcer, by the “fervid welcome of the Venetians”. The winners that year included the director Mario Camerini, the actor Carlo Ninchi, the screenwriters Barbaro, Pasinetti and Chiarini, and cameraman Carlo Montuori.
