XI Mostra internazionale d’arte cinematografica (1950)
The original images of the 1950 awards ceremony: the first prize Lion of Saint Mark went to André Cayatte for the film Justice Is Done, other awards to Elia Kazan for Panic in the Streets and to Léonide Moguy for Tomorrow Is Too Late. “Overall”, says the announcer, “these directors are men who have chosen to address an issue in today’s world over settling for mere entertainment. This is the meaning of the most recent films that have won their first battle in Venice”.
