Venice Virtual Reality on VRroom
The Biennale di Venezia announces a new initiative for the Venice Virtual Reality section, launched with great success at the 2017 Venice Film Festival, which will showcase a program of 40 projects at the 2018 Film Festival on the island of Lazzaretto Vecchio (Lido di Venezia) and a Competition section.
Thanks to the innovative multimedia platform VRrOOm, the public all around the world will be able to watch the VR projects presented at Venice Virtual Reality 2018 from September 8th to October 8th 2018. The availability of the works will thus be extended beyond the period of the 75th Venice Film Festival (29 August - 8 September 2018).
At launch, VRrOOm’s VR app will be available on iOS, Android, and Google Daydream systems for VR-enabled mobile phones, allowing the audience to watch content curated by the world’s finest festivals and cultural events either in a magic window mode on smartphones, or in VR mode with a mobile- or PC-based VR headsets compatible with such as HTC and Oculus headsets. The app will be free to access during the launch period.
