Ca’ Giustinian, 6 p.m.: meeting with the audience
The theatre that I strive for and practice is never a reading or a comment to what exists. I seek the total presence of a dense and substantial body, I seek lines of force in a cold visual objectivity that extracts material from reality and time.

This workshop will be like an obsession: the search for a series of gestures that can liberate an image. The days will be dedicated to making the actors aware that they themselves are image.
To liberate an image means, to me, to unfetter its impact from any attempt at communication. There is nothing to communicate. The image is, each time, a “Lazare, veni foras” because it needs to be drawn out, reawakened. The actors are not there to objectify a figure or to justify it, they must appear as low-definition allusions to interpret in anonymous communion with the spectator.
