for a participating artist in the Exhibition In Minor Keys by Koyo Kouoh and for a National Participation.
The 61st International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia – In Minor Keys by Koyo Kouoh – will run from Saturday 9 May to Sunday 22 November 2026 (preview 6, 7, 8 May) at the Giardini and the Arsenale venues, and in various locations around Venice.
With the full support of Koyo Kouoh’s family, La Biennale di Venezia decided to carry out her Exhibition. It will do so by following the project just as she conceived and defined it, with the purpose of preserving, enhancing and disseminating her ideas and the work she pursued.

The 110 invited participants – among them, individual artists, collaborative duos, collectives, and artist-led organisations – hail from many geographies and regions selected by Koyo Kouoh with particular attention to resonances, affinity, and and possible convergences between practices, even when far apart.
The Exhibition also includes 100 National Participations in the historic Pavilions at the Giardini (29), at the Arsenale (25), and in the city centre of Venice (46). 7 countries participate for the first time at the Biennale Arte: the Republic of Guinea, the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, the Republic of Nauru, Qatar, the Republic of Sierra Leone, Federal Republic of Somalia, and the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam. El Salvador is participating for the first time with its own pavilion.
31 Collateral Events admitted by the Curator and promoted by non–profit national and international bodies and institutions, take place in several locations across the city of Venice. They offer a wide range of contributions and participations that enrich the diversity of voices that characterizes the Biennale.
