Giardini and Arsenale: 10 am - 6 pm (last admission 5:45 pm)

Typically, the exhibition is more crowded on weekends, while weekdays are recommended for those who prefer a calmer visit; the best time to plan your visit is from May to September, where you can enjoy the quiet of the summer months as well as benefit from the extended opening hours on Fridays and Saturdays at the Arsenale venue (see opening hours).
Additionally, from June to September, Biennale also hosts the Dance, Theatre, and the Venice International Film Festival, offering a great opportunity to combine your exhibition visit with other events.

The Exhibition is divided across two venues, Giardini and Arsenale, both equally important and complementary to one another. All tickets include ammission to both venues. The visit can start at either venue.

Each venue consists of two sections: one dedicated to the International Exhibition In Minor Keys by Koyo Kouoh and one dedicated to National Participations.

Giardini is the original site of the Biennale di Venezia events, where National Pavillions were also built since 1907.

Arsenale is a proto-industrial archeological complex, in which, starting in the 14th century, the ships for the Venetian Republic’s fleet were built. Today, Arsenale also hosts National Participations in its historic spaces, recently restored by La Biennale di Venezia.

The venues are large, and self-guided visit typically takes around three hours per venue, with the duration increasing if you plan to take a guided tour.

At the exhibition venues, a courtesy electric car transportation service is available for visitors with limited mobility. There is also the possibility to request, from the on-site staff on a first-come first-serve basis: strollers, walkers, and wheelchairs.

For visitors with sensory disabilities: it is possible to book (for a fee) guided tours for visually impaired or blind visitor, focusing on linguistic and content aspects; dedicated tours for the deaf community, with the opportunity to attend educational activities in Italian Sign Language (LIS).

“Arts for All” project available by reservation: free initiatives aimed to support centers, shelters, educational and therapeutic communities, such as educational activities, workshops, visits, and guided tours for an approach to contemporary arts.

For support teachers, there are dedicated materials for an inclusive visit to the 2026 Art Biennale.

Unattended cloakroom service for storing small items (luggage and suitacases cannot be stored). 

In agreement with Bauadvisor, a paid dog custody and accompaniment service is available, bookable at least 24 hours in advance.

Pets are allowed on a leash, of small/medium size, only and exclusively in the green area of Giardini.

Where to eat
Both venues offer bar/restaurant services inside.

Where to stay
Venice offers a wide range of accommodation, and the Exhibition is easily accessible both on foot and via public transport from anywhere in the city. If accommodation is in Mestre, you must first reach Venice by bus/tram (PIAZZALE ROMA stop) or by train (VENEZIA SANTA LUCIA station), and then proceed either on foot (about 40 minutes) or by vaporetto.

Starting from April 3, for 60 non-consecutive days throughout 2026, the access fee will be enforced.
