Biennale College Blend: 6 projects selected to move on to the development phase

The Biennale College Cinema Immersive, now in its 10th edition (2025-2026), continues with the participation of 3 selected projects in the second workshop (from 5-9 February).

Biennale College – Blend

Six projects have been selected, with teams from China, France, Japan, Italy, Peru and Ukraine, to move on to the development phase of the pilot edition of Biennale College – Blend, a new Biennale di Venezia programme that involves all its Departments and their Artistic Directors, and adressed to artists who intend to create works that do not belong to one predefined discipline.

Following the first international workshop, which will end on 8 February 2026, there will be a second workshop to be held online from 13 to 16 April 2026.

Biennale College – Blend, the call for which was launched on 22 June 2025, supports the development of 6 international projects presented by 6 artists, accompanied by 6 members of their production team (12 participants in all), between the ages of 18 and 30 on the date of the deadline (22 September 2025).

The six teams in the pilot edition of Biennale College – Blend (2025 – 2026), formed by a director and a producer, are the following:

  • I was looking at the ceiling and then I saw myself
    Simone Marino (Italy) and Giacomo Rinaldini (Italy)
  • My Body Is a Resonance Chamber
    Mei Liu (China), Chiaki Soma (Japan) and Jia Y Ding (China)
  • Sephirot® The Hypatia Equation
    Carla Andolina (Italy) and Enea Lorenzoni (Italy)
  • The 3 Bitcoin Opera
    Claudix Vanesix (Peru) and William Board (France)
  • The Agharta City
    Hongbo Cai (China) and Yinx Zhou (China)
  • Youth
    Daria Zhuravel (Ukraine) and Anastasiia Zakhiiko (Ukraine)

At the conclusion of the second workshop, a grant of € 20,000 will be awarded to the best project, which will be presented in Venice within the context of the Biennale’s activities.

Biennale College – Blend is made possible by the support of the Ministry of Culture –Directorate General Cinema and Audiovisual. The educational activites are made possible by the Creative Europe – Media programme.

Biennale College Cinema – Immersive

The activity of Biennale College Cinema Immersive, now in its 10th edition (2025-2026), continues with the participation of its 3 selected projects in the second workshop which began on 5 February, and will end on Monday 9 February.

At the end of the workshop, one project will be selected to receive the € 75,000 grant and to be presented in 2026 at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival of La Biennale di Venezia. The projects that are not funded will however be given visibility during the Venice Production Bridge, as an integral part of the activities of the Venice Gap – Financing Market.
