ARCHITECTURE AND CREATIVITY

The City of the Future
PRIMARY (Grades I and II)
Venue: Giardini
A hands-on artistic workshop centred on the theme of architecture and nature in an urban context. The participants will explore how natural elements can make cities better, learning concepts such as passive cooling and vertical gardens. The activity will involve the design of a miniature city in which to introduce nature-based solutions using various art materials.

Let’s Restore the Giardini
PRIMARY (Grades III – IV – V)
Venue: Giardini
Inspired by the Biennale Architettura’s Manifesto for a Circular Economy, the participants are encouraged to design architecural elements that promote environmental and social sustainability, including elements such as solar panels, green roofs and social gathering spaces. The workshop will focus on creating models of the Pavilions to be built with three-dimensional elements, and will feature a discussion about the importance of sustainable architecture and considerations on specific existing projects and pavilions.

The Architecture of Nature
PRIMARY (Grades I – II)
Venue: Arsenale
The importance of coexistence between humans and other animal and vegetal species in living spaces. The visit and workshop encourage participants to concentrate on the animal and vegetal species that live in different environments and how important they are to create biodiversity. The aim is to overcome the concept that space is just for humans and to promote a sustainable coexistence that influences the planet positively.

Fantastic Materials
PRIMARY (Grades III – IV – V)
Venue: Arsenale
The workshop will explore the theme of materials as an element that connects people, environments and cultural narratives, promoting collective wellness. The participants are invited to create an innovative material, inspired by the materials in the exhibit (such as banana fibres or waste from construction sites), imagining properties that might help humanity to adapt to climate change.

STORYTELLING PATHS
from 30 September to 23 November
WANDERING PATH – The Magic Square
PRIMARY (Grades IV – V)
Venues: Giardini della Biennale and/or Arsenale
A creative writing workshop. With the help of a “Magic” square of paper, the students will be stimulated to create original stories and content. The activity includes an introduction to the Exhibition, the workshop to outline the story and time dedicated to writing it, and will end with a reading of the works by the groups.

ARCHITECTURE AND SCIENCE
from 1 - 31 October
The weather in a necklace
PRIMARY (Grades I and II)
Venue: Arsenale
This workshop introduces children to the theme of climate change through a sensory experience and play. Starting with real data about temperature, the numbers are transformed into colours and each shade represents a different temperature level, offering the youngest children their first contact with the language of data and the importance of sustainability.

Temperature Heat Map in a Suitcase
PRIMARY (Grades III – IV – V)
Venue: Arsenale
The workshop takes the children on a journey to discover climate change. Using real temperature data, the children will learn to read and interpret degrees Celsius translating them into colours and colouring a symbolic suitcase that becomes an annual temperature heat map illustrating how temperature changes over time.

Multidisciplinary workshops _ Music for all
PRIMARY (Grades I through V)
Venue: Arsenale
The educational programme offers the possibility of registering for a multidisciplinary workshop that brings together the language of Architecture with the language of Music. Following an hour-long visit to Biennale Architettura the children will enjoy the experience of a workshop about Music, under the guidance of musicians.

The educational programme offers the possibility of registering for a multidisciplinary workshop that brings together the language of Architecture with the language of Music.
