“As I followed Alessandro’s creative process for Aurora, I came to know a universe previously unknown to me, that of the blind and visually impaired. As a visual artist, my life has always been focused on the enhancement of vision. I therefore began a deeper exploration into the many facets of feeling. During a game of Goalball, the referee invites the audience to be quiet so that the players can hear the ball with the bells inside. Hearing thus becomes the preferred sense and replaces sight. But if our sight is filled with cultural paradigms (beautiful and ugly, for example), is hearing less constrained?”
