The morphology of Rome evokes the shape of a comet, whose beating heart is the contemporary district, which unifies the Flaminio, Foro Italico and Farnesina districts and enhances the city’s cultural and architectural identity. Is this the fruit of Rome’s Genius loci, its timeless and unchanging spirit, or is it a result of transformations the city has undergone in the contemporary era? Rome comes alive when looking at it from below. Open spaces and interstices weave a web of meanings that is often ignored, but which resurfaces in moments of reflection. they encourage improvisation and the building of social bonds. They are still the places where experiences, memories and everyday practices intertwine. The transition toward a more equitable and sustainable development model relies on the ability to combine social innovation, participation, and new forms of collaboration, fostering networks of solidarity and opportunities for growth for all. Rome, due to its millennial history, faces a greater challenge.
