The “Anthropocene Epoch” is manifest in hundreds of new human-derived minerals. Since the advent of human mining, manufacturing and constructing, mineral-like compounds have vastly increased Earth's mineral diversity. In relation to the installation “Re-Forming Materials” as part of the International Exhibition, Robert M. Hazen will engage the audience to think about how humans interact with our planetary home.

Speakers:
Robert M. Hazen (Mineralogist and Astrobiologist, Carnegie Institution of Washington´s Geophysical Laboratory), Clarence Robinson (Professor of Earth Science at George Mason University, Executive Director of the Deep Carbon Observatory).

Moderators:
René RisslandMartina Dietrich (raum.land).
