NZƎNDA - The Path Home
ALBUM
DESCRIPTION
NZƎNDA - The Path Home is an experimental proposition developed by artist Beya Gille Gacha. Conceived as an immersive initiatory journey unfolding through twelve interconnected spaces, NZƎNDA transforms Palazzo Canal into a womb-like architecture – a threshold between the visible and the invisible, the intimate and the collective.
Approaching Cameroon as a living body, NZƎNDA explores how wounds shaped by history, land and memory are traversed. Sound, vibration, light, plants, volcanic sand, sculptural entities, video and performative gestures act as active agents within a temple-space dedicated to the realignment of earth, body, heart and spirit. Visitors are invited into a journey of repair and renewal.
NZƎNDA is a living matrix activated by invited artists and knowledge keepers: Jail Time Records composes immersive soundscapes and healing frequencies with incarcerated and formerly incarcerated artists; Sylvie Njobati invokes the primordial feminine divinity Ngon’so; Bienvenue Fotso works with Cameroonian pharmacopoeia and Baka medicine women; Neals Niat conceives the Pavilion’s entrance as a threshold between temporalities; Zora Snake opens the matrix through ritual performance and embodied transmission. Their gestures awaken a shared vibration within the Pavilion – a space of transformation, a path home.
