Yesterday Maybe

Yesterday Maybe evokes the suspended moments following the announcement of a loved one’s death, when reality falters and the mind struggles to grasp the irreversible.
Inspired by the first sentence of Camus’s The Stranger - “Mother died today. Or maybe, yesterday; I can’t be sure.” -the project delves into a swirl of memories, emotions, and absurdity, offering an intimate passage through grief and questioning our rituals in the face of the incomprehensible.

Yesterday Maybe is a deeply personal project that explores, in a dreamlike way, the first moments after the announcement of a loved one’s death, when reality, memories, and emotions blur into an almost unreal haze. The experience immerses the viewer in this inner turmoil, where death becomes the sole anchor.
Gradually, even this certainty begins to fracture, giving rise to questions and emotional drift, until one faces reality and can begin the grieving process. The project also reflects on our need for rituals when confronting the incomprehensible and the absurd.
