synopsis

In 1996, Diesel officially landed in the United States, the homeland of denim, challenging Levi’s on its own battleground: Lexington Avenue. This is where Be Brave, the documentary about Renzo Rosso, founder of Diesel and the OTB Group – today a true fashion empire – begins.
To tell his story, the director embarks on a journey through interviews with friends, colleagues, artists and creatives. They all say the same thing: meeting Renzo means feeling truly seen for the first time.
But Renzo Rosso is not only an entrepreneur and designer, he is also a communication genius, a man who has always pushed the boundaries of language, provocation and irony. This is why the film chooses to use AI as a storytelling tool: a game with the audience, a challenge. An attempt to spark a conversation about the technological progress achieved through AI and about the true creativity that can only emerge from the wonderful stupidity of human beings.

Director’s Statement

Telling Renzo Rosso’s story means entering the world of a pioneer who dismantled traditional codes to create new visual and cultural disruptions. Rosso has always been, fundamentally, a provocateur – in fashion and in communication alike.
The decision to use Artificial Intelligence to tell his story is not driven by technological fascination or by a passing trend. It is born out of necessity. AI becomes the mirror of his own way of thinking: an endless creative stream that breaks rules, a provocation that forces us to confront the present moment and decide whether we will govern it or merely experience it. By refusing to obey.
This film tells the story of how Rosso conquered the collective imagination by transforming provocation and courage into artistic and existential practices. It does so through an experimental and provocative encounter with the ultimate frontier of our time: Artificial Intelligence.
