(2015, 16’)

Filmed with seven cameras at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa in 2013, twenty years after its debut on stage, the film of Marie Chouinard’s Sacre du printemps, her first choreography based on a musical score that was a milestone in modern music, after over 250 performances on stages around the world, carries the same powerful pulsation onto the screen and displays a particular approach to gesture that splendidly holds its own against the power of Stravinsky’s music.

“Dancer of the year” for “Tanz” magazine in 2010, in addition to the many acknowledgments she has received in her native country for her incisive presence on the stage and on the screen, Carol Prieur, with a background in studies in Vienna, New York and India (Kalarypayattu martial arts), began her career with the Winnipeg Contemporary Dancers company; she participated in tours of Joe by the Fondation Jean-Pierre Perrault and since 1995 has been a member of the Compagnie Marie Chouinard.
