Description

Founded in 2018 by ARS, 100_ve is an itinerant Italian festival that operates as a relational practice between art, places and artists. It presents life/vita, a showcase bringing together Michele Nannini, Enrico Caldini (Gabsphere), Philip Kylberg and Gaia Ginevra Giorgi. It begins with a question of terms: what constitutes an emerging practice, and by what measure is the “local” defined? Neither functions here as a preliminary stage nor as a limit of scale. Rather, these practices emerge from particular geographies, infrastructures and conditions of scarcity, producing distinct sonic vocabularies, approaches to performance and relationships to place.

What life/vita constructs is not a national selection but a situation: one shaped by sequence, proximity and the negotiation of a common room over the duration of a single night. Within the Biennale Musica 2026, the showcase inhabits the friction between institutional time and practices still in formation, foregrounding the local not as backdrop but as the ground on which this music continues to be invented.
