
Guillermo del Toro will give the laudatio honoring Kim Novak
On Monday September 1st before the screening out of competition of the film Kim Novak’s Vertigo by Alexandre O. Philippe, at 2 pm in the Palazzo del Cinema.
Kim Novak Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement
Guillermo del Toro (The Shape of Water, Nightmare Alley, Pan's Labyrinth) will give the Laudatio honoring Kim Novak, on the occasion of the awarding to the legendary American actress the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement, of the 82nd Venice International Film Festival of La Biennale di Venezia.
The award ceremony to Kim Novak will take place today, Monday September 1st, at 2 pm in the Sala Grande of the Palazzo del Cinema (Lido di Venezia).
After the ceremony, there will be an Out-of-Competition Screening of Kim Novak’s Vertigo (USA / 77’) by Alexandre O. Philippe.
Guillermo del Toro won the Competition's Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival in 2017 with The Shape of Water - for which he also received the Oscar for Best Motion Picture and the Oscar for Best Achievement in Directing – and was President of the Venezia 75 Jury in 2018. The Mexican director is present again this year in competition with Frankenstein (USA / 149’), starring Oscar Isaac, Jacob Elordi, Christoph Waltz, Mia Goth, Felix Kammerer, Charles Dance, David Bradley, Lars Mikkelsen and Christian Convery.
