Masterclasses
The Masterclasses with cinema personalities are back at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival of La Biennale di Venezia, for the third time at the Match Point Arena (250 seats), set up at the Tennis Club Venezia on the Lido, in front of the Hotel Excelsior. Free entry for accredited people only, without reservation.
Three Masterclasses will be held by directors and performers, including the American actor and director George Clooney (2026 Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement) on Thursday 3 September at 4:00 pm, the French director Luc Besson on Sunday 6 September at 4:00 pm, the American actress Ellen Burstyn (2026 Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement) on Tuesday 8 September at 4:00 pm. The Masterclasses can also be followed via livestream on the website www.labiennale.org.
The program will also include two Masterclasses “The Art and Craft of Cinema” organised by Cartier, in collaboration with La Biennale, which will include the dialogue between Chinese director, Academy Award winner Chloe Zhao (Golden Lion for Best Film in 2020 for Nomadland) and Polish cinematographer Lukasz Zal, collaborators on the Oscar-winning Hamnet, on Friday 4 September at 3:30 pm and Italian director Luca Guadagnino (Silver Lion for Best Directing in 2022 for Bones and All) on Monday 7 September at 3:30 pm.
