The new programme for Saturday 17 October
Alif Hilal’s Hymnal Replaces Asmaâ Hamzaoui’s Concert.
Saturday 17 October
The programme for Saturday 17 October will open at the Teatro alle Tese (6.00 pm) with the world premiere of In the Threshold of Your Love, by and featuring Alif Hilal, Mohammad Reza Mortazavi and Islam El-Ghazouly (sintir, fujara, electronics). This will be followed by Hymnal, from Alif Hilal’s most recent recording, which is almost a showcase of the dizzying multiplication of vocal lines of which the American musician is capable, also through the use of digital technologies. As previously announced, Hymnal will be performed in place of the concert by Asmaâ Hamzaoui, who is unable to travel to Italy owing to problems with her travel documents.
The evening will continue, as scheduled, at St Mark’s Basilica with The Tallis Scholars (9.00 pm), and will close at Pavilion 30 at Forte Marghera with Plygonia and Surgeon.
