Newly elected French president Paul Archambault is called to Jupiter anti-atomic bunker located beneath the Élysée Palace to deal with an international crisis. The Russian president has been the victim of an assassination attempt, blames the Ukrainians and prepares to retaliate. Tension escalates and nuclear war looms: Paul Archambault and his political and military advisors face an impossible decision.
The fate of humanity is at stake.

Jupiter refers to the Jupiter Command Post, a “mythological” place where the president makes the most serious decisions in absolute secrecy. With Thomas Finkielkraut, my coscreenwriter, we wanted to tell this story in the most realistic way possible.
Jupiter is not solely what one might describe as a “disaster movie”; it is also a brutal exploration of what it means to hold in one’s hands, literally, the power to destroy the world. An autopsy of power, a dive into the depths of a decision that could annihilate everything.
