Synopsis

As he is about to separate from his partner, with whom he lives in Eastern France, 49-year-old Léo learns of the death of his biological father, whom he never knew. Before travelling to Italy to deal with the inheritance, he spends a few days in Paris to take stock of his life. Between conversations with his activist daughter and encounters with ghosts from his past, he begins to question his very existence, and, above all, his relationships with women.

Director’s Statement

For several years now, I have wanted to write a love story about people my age, between forty-five and fifty-five, but I could not find the right way to tell it. I wondered if it was still possible to write an “innocent” love story, whether this kind of narrative was still credible in the age of #MeToo, now that we have entered a period of demystifying desire and the early stages of romantic encounters. Then came the idea: not of a love story set in the present, but of a man in 2026 trying to reinterpret his past love life – what ultimately shaped him most intimately – for every political revolution inevitably brings about a moral shift.
