HISTORICAL TOURS

29 September – 22 November
Venue: Giardini della Biennale and/or the Arsenale

These tours focus on the historic and architectural heritage of the Biennale di Venezia’s exhibition venues. The Giardini della Biennale are explored as an open-air museum of contemporary architecture, featuring iconic exhibition buildings designed by masters of Modernism and Postmodernism. The tour of the Arsenale reconstructs its significance to the Republic of Venice (La Serenissima), detailing its internal organisation and principal buildings—some of which are extraordinary examples of industrial archaeology.
