Venice Immersive

Venice Immersive is the Extended Reality (XR) section of the 83rd Venice International Film Festival of La Biennale di Venezia (2 – 12 September 2026).

The Venice Immersive section of the 83rd  Venice International Film Festival is dedicated entirely to the immersive arts and media, and includes all forms of creative XR expression: immersive videos, virtual and mixed reality, virtual worlds, XR and immersive installations.

The programme is hosted on the Venice Immersive Island (Isola del Lazzaretto Vecchio), located across from Riva di Corinto on the Lido di Venezia.

The selection is composed of a total of 68 projects from twenty-six countries, divided as follows:

  • 30 projects in Competition
  • 35 projects in the Best of Immersive section divided into 9 Best of Experiences and 26 Best of Worlds
  • 3 projects in the Biennale College Cinema - Immersive section

Access

The Venice Immersive selection is accessible to all 83rd Venice International Film Festival accreditation pass holders.

People over 18 years of age interested in viewing the immersive projects exclusively, can request a Venice Immersive accreditation, available in three formats:

2-DAYS:  € 40
5-DAYS:  € 60
11-DAYS:  € 100

Get your VENICE IMMERSIVE ACCREDITATION

The viewing of the experiences is available upon reservation only via a dedicated booking platform.

The daily program runs from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm, from 2 to 12 September, on the Venice Immersive Island (Isola del Lazzaretto Vecchio), connected to Riva di Corinto on the Lido di Venezia by a free waterbus shuttle service. The crossing takes about 3 minutes.

PLEASE NOTE: The project Of Woman Born by Nalini Malani is held at Magazzini del Sale n.5, Fondamenta Zattere ai Saloni, Dorsoduro 262, which can be reached by Actv waterbuses stopping at Zattere.
Free admission without reservation, 11.00 am – 7.00 pm

For pass holders who use a wheelchair, the access to the Venice Immersive Island and to the experiences of the Venice Immersive section, is possible by sending an email with subject “ACCESSIBILITY VENICE IMMMERSIVE – accreditation code” to biglietteria.cinema@labiennale.org indicating: name and surname, the accreditation code, the details of the experiences to book and any additional requirement. The request must be sent at least 48 hours in advance.

Reservations

All pass holders can book the viewing of the Venice Immersive projects on the 83rd Venice International Film Festival dedicated platform.

Previews for Press, Industry Trade and Industry Gold accreditation pass holders will be on September 1st.
